Geomagnetic Positioning-Aided Wi-Fi FTM Localization Algorithm for NLOS Environments

WiFi-based indoor localization using the fine time measurement (FTM) protocol has become a popular technique. However, in harsh Non-Line-of-Sight (NLoS) environments, WiFi FTM positioning (WFP) suffers from poor performance. In this letter, novel method with assistance of geomagnetic (GP) is proposed. To ensure accuracy GP, an enhanced mind evolutionary algorithm (EMEA) designed. A fine-grained position estimation overlapping searching area (OSA) and coincident points selection strategy Experimental results show that EMEA-based GP improves performance WFP NLOS mean error (ME) root-mean-square (RMSE) GP-aided are 1.82 m 2.08 m, respectively. Compared classic weighted least square (WLS) method, ME RMSE reduced by 51.7% 52.4%,
